Chapter 3.5

Why not become didactic?

Dear reader,

Here now I must take away one level of abstraction. These little creatures with their pretend conflicts are no longer enough to express the things I need.

Dear reader,
How did you feel about that last comic? I can't possibly know, both in the sense of artists never do know their audiences on an individual level (I cannot speak to you directly here), and because I am not normal. I do not know what cultural space this occupies, and what responses thus are not to be literally held, but perhaps at least held in the mind of an audience as a potential perspective that they expect to either be furthered or subverted.

Dear reader,
If you staunchly hold as true, for example, the fox should be punished regardless of the snake's forgiveness, then this next part may as well be meaningless.

Dear reader,
If this was touching or resonant in some way then I must ask you, and it is an ugly, selfish ask:
Do these feelings change if the violence is sexual?

Dear reader,
What type of person asks that question?

Dear reader,
Based on your response above, what do you think I need to express so badly? What is it that I beg the culture, beg myself, the means to communicate?

Dear reader,
I beg of you.

Please do not leave me cold and lonely.
